Marriage in Your Kundali Explained
Questions about marriage, a partner or a relationship are among the most common ones asked of an astrologer. This guide explains how a kundali is read for them.
Last updated: 14 October 2026
The houses and planets involved
- 7th house: partnership and marriage.
- 2nd house: family life and the household.
- Venus: a key planet for love, comfort and relationships.
- Jupiter: traditionally important for marriage, especially in a woman's chart.
- Navamsa (D9) chart: a divisional chart studied together with the main chart for the strength of marriage.
Timing comes from the dashas
Astrologers look at the running planetary period and sub-period to judge when matters of marriage become active, and they compare them with the movement of slow planets such as Jupiter and Saturn. We read the period from the day of your order to 3 years ahead.
Other relationships
The same chart is read for a spouse, a girlfriend or boyfriend, children and parents. Each uses a different house and planet, so tell us which relationship you want to ask about.
Before you ask
Astrology offers guidance for reflection, not guarantees. The decisions you make remain your own. If you are planning a marriage, Kundali Milan compares both charts. See our guide to Kundali Milan.
Common questions
Can astrology tell me when I will marry?
It can point to periods when marriage matters are more active in your chart, within the next 3 years in our readings. It cannot give a guaranteed date.
Which questions about relationships can I ask?
Marriage, your relationship with a wife or husband, a girlfriend or boyfriend, your children or your parents. Choose the topics in our order form.
Do I need my partner's details?
Only for Kundali Milan. For a reading of your own marriage prospects, your own birth details are enough.
